On Sunday, May 19, 2019 Shir Hadash will hold its annual meeting at the synagogue. Voting will open starting at 9:00 a.m. The meeting presentations will begin at 9:15 a.m. You will be able to vote during the meeting, and there will be presentations by candidates and concerning the proposed budget, with opportunities to ask questions. Coffee, tea, and food will be available during the meeting.

At the meeting, you will be asked to vote for candidates for open positions on the Board of Directors. You will have opportunities to hear from the candidates, and ask them questions. The open positions and candidates are:

Executive Vice President 2 years Stuart Aizenberg

Vice President Programming 2 years Melanie Andes

Board Member at Large 2 years Ila Rothschild

Board Member at Large 2 years Nellie Settler

Board Member at Large 2 years Fred Andes

Board Member at Large 2 years Elliott Simon

We will also vote on the proposed operating budget for 2019 – 2020. The proposed budget is enclosed. The Treasurer and other members of the Board will present the budget and take questions at the meeting.

Your ballot will be available at the meeting. You can, if you choose, leave after voting if you are unable to stay for the entire meeting. In two-adult households, one adult can obtain the ballot of, and vote for, the other adult member as well for her/himself.

If you are unable to attend the annual meeting and wish to vote, please contact the Shir Hadash office, at 847/498-8218, or send an e-mail to election@shir-hadash.org, and you will be sent an absentee ballot request form to fill out. After you complete and send back that form, an absentee ballot will be sent to you. All absentee ballots must be received by the Shir Hadash office no later than Tuesday, May 14, 2019.

Information about the candidates will be available soon on the members-only section of the Shir Hadash web site next week. We encourage you to participate in this important meeting and voting process for Shir Hadash. The meeting will have updates on the progress to date on exciting and important activities.
