Once again, Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Synagogue will hold beautiful, inspiring, creative and musical High Holiday Services. Like last year, we will have in-person services with a livestream option.
Most of the services will be held at in the Social Hall of St. Joseph the Worker Church, directly across the street from the synagogue, and the rest will be held at the synagogue. The children’s programs will be held at the synagogue. Check the schedule at right or the synagogue calendar to check each service's location.
If you are attending in-person, your badge (which serves as your ticket) will be waiting for you at St. Joseph.
If you are not able to attend in-person, or not comfortable doing so, we are offering an virtual livestream option through Zoom and through our members-only Facebook page. Before the holidays, you will be sent a Zoom link to use if you are not attending in person. We ask that you please not share this Zoom link with non-members who haven't registered. And if you have any questions, let us know. Just send an e-mail to cwr@shir-hadash.org or call the office at (847)498-8218.
Please see sidebar of exact times for each service. ⇒⇒⇒⇒⇒
Children's Program
As usual, we will offer children's programming for Erev Rosh Hashanah, Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur morning services. This program will be led by our Director for Lifelong Learning, Lauren Comm. It will be offered in-person only at the synagogue. The program is for children up to age 13, but your children are also, of course, welcome to be with you during the adult services at St. Joseph as well. At the synagogue, we will be projecting the adult service in the sanctuary through the Facebook feed. This will allow parents who choose to stay at the synagogue to watch the full service, and will enable the kids to watch the beginning and conclusion of the adult services, as we have in previous years. More details about the children’s program will be provided before the Holidays. If you would like to register your children for that program, please do so in the form below.
Prayerbooks
Shir Hadash uses the Reconstructionist High Holiday Mahzor. These books are available for purchase for your use at home. If you need a book, please purchase below. If you plan to attend in person, you can pick up your books when you arrive at services. If you are not attending in person, we can mail the books (including mailing charge) or you can pick them up at the synagogue before Mon. Sept. 11.
Guest Tickets
To register non-members who would like to attend services, please use either the High Holiday Guest form or the New High Holiday Guest Registration form, as appropriate. Or, the non-members can register themselves, using the same forms. The links to those forms are in the sidebar on the right side of this page.
If you have questions about services, don't hesitate to email us at cwr@shir-hadash.org or call our office at (847) 498-8218
