As we welcome the new month of Kislev, the season of dreams, miracles, and hidden light, we gather to celebrate Shabbat with the theme “Faith in the Dark.” Join Rabbi Schachar Orenstein and the Shir Hadash community for an evening of music, reflection, and gentle illumination — a time to nurture trust and hope even when the way forward is not yet clear. We’ll explore how the quiet light of Kislev reminds us that faith often begins in the dark, and that even the smallest spark can guide us home. -

PRAY & PLAY! We offer opportunities for young children and their families to celebrate holidays, learn about Judaism, sing, dance and do mitzvot. Programming is planned to meet all the different ages and stages of young childhood ages (0–5). Every program includes a range of activities to meet children where they are in their Jewish learning and abilities. Who can come to our programming? Any family with a child 0–5. Events are open to the community! We welcome parents, grandparents, and any other caring adults to accompany young children to our programming. Whether you have already joined Shir Hadash or are searching for your synagogue, come to one of our many opportunities for young families to play, pray, and socialize together! Our Religious/Hebrew school meets weekly on Sundays with children from K to 12th grade. Learn about our innovative and engaging approach to Jewish learning and living here.
