Wise Aging Information Meeting

Wednesday, May 11, 2016 3 Iyyar 5776

10:00 AM - 11:30 AMShir Hadash

Aging may feel like a train we never intended to get on and never realized it was moving.  Wise Aging is an opportunity to slow that ride and take control of our journey, first by becoming aware and then learning to appreciate both the journey itself and the landscapes we encounter along the way.  Through contemplation, discussion, and study we can learn how to encounter our own aging with creativity, humility, and joy.

Shir Hadash is excited to offer to our members the Wise Aging program, which has been inspired and developed by the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. We will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 11th at 10 a.m. for those who would like to find out more details about what Wise Aging is and why it is such a valuable addition to our Adult Education program.

We will also be offering a 4 session “Taste of Wise Aging” that will give people a chance to experience a few aspects of the program. The dates for “Taste of Wise Aging” will be:

May 25th
June 8th
June 22nd
July 6th

The sessions will be guided by Lynn Liebling and me (Rabbi Seeg); both of us are experienced group leaders and have had specific training in the Wise Aging program by the institute for Jewish Spirituality.

If you have questions or know that you would like to participate and cannot attend the informational meeting please be in touch with Rabbi Seeg at learning@shir-hadash.org or by phone at 847-498-8218.  We look forward to the opportunity to share in the journey that is Wise Aging.
