Shir Hadash's Coffee House Night- Concert Series is thrilled to present one of our own, Scarlett Andes, accompanied by pianist Gail Mangurten of the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band. Her 90-minute Solo Concert will span centuries of repertoire drawn from genres including Musical Theatre, Yiddish Theatre, Opera, and Contemporary Music.

Scarlett began her vocal career at the age of four as a founding member of Shir Hadash's Kolit Children's Choir and continues to sing regularly as a featured soloist in our Lahaka Adult Choir during Shabbat and High Holiday services.

As a young teen, Scarlett began formal studies in Vocal Performance and continues to study under voice teacher Chadley Ballantyne. She has performed both musical theatre and opera roles through the University of Illinois Lyric Theatre Department, as well as in various a capella groups, choirs, and a rock band.

Recent performances include singing with Billy Kaplan at the Chicago Jewish Folk Arts Festival, and touring Italy as a soloist with the St. John Neumann Catholic Church Choir to sing at the Vatican for the Pope!
