Passover Community 2nd Night Seder - Hybrid
Sunday, April 13, 2025 • 15 Nisan 5785
6:00 PM - 8:00 PMShir HadashWelcome to our Community Seder 2025!
A 2nd Night Seder at Shir Hadash; where Passover is honored and reconstructed for the 21st Century. A service that is familiar but lively and involving. Passover like you have never seen it before (unless you've already been to a Shir Hadash Seder). The Seder is followed by a pot luck meal described below.
Joining from home?
For those joining via Zoom, there is no need to register. If you feel moved, there is a suggested donation of $18 to help cover the costs of the seder—donations can be made online here. In the drop-down, select General Fund, and write "Community Seder" as a note in the box below.
Zoom link will be posted as the holiday approaches.
This potluck event will be veggie/dairy dishes using Kosher for Passover ingredients. Fish is welcome! Ashkenazic and Sephardic dishes (which can include ingredients such as rice, corn, and legumes) are both welcome!
- Please bring 1 dish serving 8-10 people for every two people in your group, (Round up, so for 1-2 people bring 1 dish; 3-4 people, 2 dishes; 5-6 people, 3 dishes; etc.) in the following categories:
- Appetizers and Salads
- Main Dishes
- Side Dishes (starches and hot veggies)
- Desserts
- (For example, a family of 4 could bring 2 main dishes, or 1 main dish & 1 side dish, or 1 main dish & 1 dessert, etc. We hope to balance the menu, so please feel free to reach out if you'd like suggestions for what to bring. See menu ideas below.)
- For hot main and side dishes, please bring your food in half size (10"x12") or full size (12"x20") steam table aluminum pans. All hot food will be set into wire steam tables. All hot food must arrive hot. It is very important that the pans be the correct dimensions; otherwise they won't fit properly in the steam table and your hot dish might go for a swim.
- On a note card, please name the dish and list all of the ingredients on both sides of the card. (Many attendees have food sensitivities.)
- Please bring either white grape juice or white wine, whichever your family prefers.
