More about lay chaplaincy:
We’ve all had to find our way through loss in our lives. Have you ever looked for someone to lean on during a difficult time? Have you supported someone who’s “been there,” and did you find the experience rewarding? Would you like the opportunity to help others in the community?
Lay Chaplains offer compassionate hospitality to those struggling through difficult experience, regardless of their religion or system of belief. Many seeking spiritual/emotional support having been marginalized through illness,
loneliness, ageism, job loss, gender bias, bereavement…the list goes on. Although sometimes the work involves a request for religious support, lay chaplains above all else are spiritual companions.
The Lay Chaplaincy Program at Shir Hadash seeks individuals like you – ready to offer comfort and companionship to others during life’s most vulnerable moments.
No prior experience needed.
Program includes training workshops (flexible evenings and weekends). Mentorship and training provided by experienced chaplains and clergy. Space for this Program is Limited to a Maximum of 12 Participants
