Pausing in the Desert

Friday, April 7, 2017 11 Nisan 5777

7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us as we usher in the Passover season with a special worship service of the arts featuring puppeteer and storyteller.  There will be two services that evening, a Family with children's dinner and service beginning at 5:30 PM and a community service beginning at 7:30 PM.  Both are open to the public.

Marilyn Price will tell stories at both services. Marilyn captivates audiences of all ages by combining entertainment with some of life' s most treasured values. A nationally–acclaimed storyteller, educator, and puppeteer, she inspires her audiences to open their minds and their hearts.

Her puppets, which she will feature at the Young Family service, are an art form themselves. She often amazes audiences by animating common objects, anything from household cleaning supplies to carryout food packaging. Marilyn moves her hands, tells the story and the audience comes to life!

The Lahaka adult choir will present beautiful setting for the prayers and Passover songs and dancers will offer a dance of freedom.

This is our community’s way of preparing for Passover. Through story, puppetry, song, and even dance, we will celebrate our ancestors’ deliverance from Egyptian slavery. As Jews, we have the ongoing responsibility to see that freedom comes to all humanity.
