We will be kicking off our Israeli Movie Nights with a discussion on the movie The Women's Balcony, a 2016 movie about a devout community suddenly under pressure from an new orthodox rabbi to observe faith in a more rigid way.  While the film is gentle and comedic, it intertwines lessons about fanaticism, sexism, and tolerance, as the women speak truths to patriarchal power.
