For your Shabbat at Home, maybe...
- Put on some fun or relaxing music. It could be friend-of-Shir-Hadash Billy Kaplan's Shabbat Sweet album, Yiddish tango (yes, that's a thing!), klezmer or other traditional music... really anything you like that says "Shabbat" to you!
- Plan ahead to make a dish that's special to you
- Call up a friend you haven't spoken to in a long time
- Light candles & bless your dinner (traditional blessings can be found here, see below for more "reconstructed" blessing options)
- Try a Technology Shabbat by putting away your phone & other devices for part or all of Shabbat (except for joining the Zoom at 8pm, of course)
Plus, browse these suggestions from Ritualwell, Reconstructing Judaism's online collections of rituals, ceremonies, prayers and poems to mark sacred moments in Jewish life:
- Ritual for Turning Off Devices Before Shabbat
- Seven Ways to Make Friday Night Special
- Build a Shabbat Tent
- Blessing Loved Ones (for Shabbat or any occasion)
- Blessing Animals on Friday Night

Shabbat Shalom!
