The Wildflower garden the Sunday school started last autumn is now about to start 'Phase 2'. In the autumn, we prepped a 30 sq ft bed, and we're about to start the wildflower seeds for the garden. Most North American wildflowers require a cold vernalization period to germinate. A new, fairly miraculous system has been developed that also recycles used milk jugs. We will be planting the seeds and setting them in our enclosed area to 'vernalize' for 60 days on Groundhog Day, Feb 2nd. This is an INDOOR ACTIVITY and we'd love to have, not only parents, but our extended Shir Hadash family join us. By all means bring a clean milk jug and, if you'd like, we will probably have enough seeds to start some wildflower seeds for your garden as well.
